FLEXIBLE

Part Time Instrument Rating Course

self paced Instrument Rating on your own schedule

While a Private Pilot Certificate allows you to fly a vast number of aircraft, you are limited to flying in VFR (Visual Flight Rules) conditions meaning you will need to have visual reference during flight.

This rule can severely limit when and where you fly especially if you plan to use your aircraft for business. With Instrument Rating in addition to your Private Pilot Certificate, you will be able to take advantage of flights using Instruments only. This will allow you to fly in the clouds and open up a whole new world of flying. Instrument Rating is often a pre-cursor to higher ratings if you are planning on becoming a Commercial Pilot or considering a Career Path in Aviation.

Oregon Aero Academy's Self Paced Instrument Rating utilizes our Part 141 Approval to forego the necessary 50 Hours of XC time required in a Part 61 program offered at other schools.

  • Self Study Ground School (Recommend Gleim Aviation, King Schools, or Gold Seal) OR
