All Flying Adventure begins with a Private Pilot Certificate. At Oregon Aero Academy, we can take you from Zero to Private through our Part 61 Program and can design any curriculum to your schedule.
Training Summary
- Self Study Ground School (Recommend Gleim Aviation, King Schools, or Gold Seal) OR
- 35 Hours of Intensive 1-On-1 Instructor led Ground School (Highly Recommended)
- 5 Additional Hours of 1-On-1 Ground training prior to Solo and as Mock Checkride
- 45 Hours of Intensive Flight Training consisting of:
- 2 Hours of AATD with a CFI
- 38 Hours of Dual Instruction with a CFI
- 10 Hours of Solo flight hours
- 10 Hours of Pre / Post Flight Instruction
Pre-Requisites for Enrollment
To enroll into Accelerated Private Pilot Flight Training Program, the following must be met:
- Must be at least 17 years old
- Enrollment Paperwork filled and completed
- Valid FTN and completed Student Pilot Certificate Application
- For US Citizens:
- Current / Valid US Passport or Official Birth Certificate
- For Aliens, Approval from FTSP for Flight Training
- Current / Valid Driver's License
- At least a 3rd Class Medical Certificate
- Renter's Insurance Coverage
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Enrollment Paperwork filled and completed
- Valid FTN and completed Student Pilot Certificate Application
- For US Citizens:
- Current / Valid US Passport or Official Birth Certificate
- For Aliens, Approval from FTSP for Flight Training
- Current / Valid Driver's License
- At lease 3rd Class Medical Certificate
- Renter's Insurance Coverage

Requirement prior to Solo Endorsement
- Renter's Insurance validation
- Student Pilot Certificate through FAA's system - IACRA
- At least a 3rd Class Medical Certificate
Materials and Supplies NOT included
- Our Courses do not include:
- Medical Certificate
- FAA Knowledge Testing
- Checkride Fees
- Quality Headset (ANR Preferred). Please have ready for your first flight

- Updated Sectional, Terminal, Enroute, A/FD, and Chart Supplements as needed
Student Responsiblities
With goal of obtaining a Private Pilot Certificate in approximately 7 weeks, Oregon Aero Academy expects the following from all students enrolled in the Accelerated Private Pilot Flight Training Program:
- Attend all Ground School and pass Knowledge Exam within 1 week of completion
- Attend and be present in school at least 4 days per week, 8 hours per day
- Fly at least 2-3 Lessons per day (2-5 hours per lesson) each day

Payment Terms
If you opt for the 1 on 1 Ground School, students are required to to pay for materials/supplies and Gleim Private Pilot Ground School Kit and Class totaling $2,000.00. If you will be pursuing Self Study Ground School, no up front payment is required.
